Manifesto for territories of life
Our shared values, what we stand for, and what we ask ourselves and others to do

Our work
The ICCA Consortium is an international membership association dedicated to supporting the territories and areas conserved by Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities — places where communities live, manage, and protect landscapes with deep ancestral ties.
We embody authenticity, inclusivity, and a collaborative spirit. Our work is driven by passion, resilience, and commitment to fostering positive, lasting change.

Three interconnected pillars that guide everything we do across all our member communities and regions.
Rights & Recognition
Advocating for the legal recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ and Local Communities’ rights to govern their territories, free from external pressures or dispossession.
Conservation & Wellbeing
Supporting community-led conservation that goes hand in hand with cultural vitality, food sovereignty, and long-term ecological health of these unique territories.
Global Solidarity
Connecting a worldwide network of Indigenous peoples, local communities, and allies to amplify voices, share knowledge, and build collective power at all levels.

“Territories of life are not just conserved lands. They are lived-in, loved, and governed with care.“
– Taghi Farvar
